Bath-only services

Published 2026-05-10

Not every dog needs a full groom every visit. Bath-only service — bath, dry, brush, ears, nails — is the right choice for short-coated breeds and as an interim service between full grooms for long-coated breeds.

Cost in Florida: small dogs $30–$45, medium $40–$60, large $55–$75, giant $70–$95. About half the price of a full groom.

Time: 60–90 minutes typically.

Best candidates: Labs, Pit mixes, Boxers, Beagles, Hounds, and other short-coated breeds. They benefit from regular bathing without needing haircuts. Florida's humidity and pollen mean short-coated dogs still need monthly baths.

Also good for long-coated breeds between full grooms. Get a full groom every 6–8 weeks, then a bath-only at week 4 to keep things clean.

Self-service bath stations exist in some Florida pet stores (PetSmart, Pet Supplies Plus). Cost: $10–$20 for use of the elevated tub, professional dryers, and shampoo. You do the work. Saves money for owners who don't mind the labor.

What bath-only does NOT include: haircuts, trimming, hand-stripping, or significant scissoring.
