Holiday grooming schedules in Florida
Florida grooming salons get slammed from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day. Snowbird arrivals, holiday photos, family visits, and the general "I want my dog clean for the in-laws" rush mean appointments fill up 3–4 weeks ahead.
Book your November appointment by mid-October. December slots — especially the week before Christmas — should be booked in early November. New Year's week is usually quieter, which makes it a good catch-up window if you missed December.
If your dog is a regular, ask your groomer to put you on a standing schedule (every 6 weeks, same day, same time slot). Many Florida salons honor standing appointments with priority over walk-ins, even during the holiday rush.
Photo grooms — fancier styling for family Christmas-card photos — book up first. If you want a teddy-bear cut, fancy bows, or holiday-themed accessories, request 4 weeks out and confirm 1 week before the appointment.
For travel: if you're flying out and boarding your dog, get the groom done before drop-off, not at the boarding facility. Boarding-attached grooming is busy in December and the quality varies.
